The Birds
This place is practically run by birds. Powered by them. Their beaks and bills do a lot of the heavy lifting by grazing the pastures, cleaning up weeds and fertilizing. They also lay eggs and provide tasty meat, when they have time.

The Integration
Every animal here serves a purpose, sometimes more than one. Rabbits provide some of the finest fertilizer and compost while also recycling our garden weeds and tree branches. Our laying flock is rotated to the 'Racken' house (Thanks, Joel Salatin) to scratch rabbit droppings into the bedding below to keep things tidy and composting. The heat this generates keeps the chickens warm in the winter.

Our Little Farm with Big Dreams
We're a small family farm raising animals and growing vegetables using organic methods. Our farm has been here since 1900 and we're staying as true to that era as possible. Why 'Halfacre' and 'farms' not something else? It's how we grow and produce in paddocks.
